Okay, okay, okay. After the last episode, I’m sure we can all agree that having a twin makes for an exciting experience. So now, on Episode 2 of Gatekeep, Gaslight, Girlboss, I’d like to talk to one of my friends that I met from my own organization.

Nadia Abusaid is a sophomore Journalism major from Houston, Texas who is double minoring in Communication and Horticulture. We first met in the Student American Institute of Floral Design organization, where we are both currently members. Both of us were inspired by this organization to add Horticulture as our minor. We are both also pursuing a certificate from Texas A&M in Floral Design.

In this next episode, we’ll be talking about one of my favorite things to gossip about. Dating. Arguably one of the most talked about topics of girls in our generation, and women everywhere in general. Finding someone is not always easy (I can definitely speak from experience), and everyone’s luck with dating is different.

Dating is something that is a significant part of the majority of college people’s lives. Therefore, it is also something that can play a pretty big role in mental health. Since there is a lot of growing up that happens in college, it is interesting to see how dating and relationships start to change.

For this episode, Nadia and I will be exploring relationships and how they fit in to the modern college experience. Since we both have had different experiences during our time navigating the college dating scene, we’ll be taking a look at each of our dating experiences and comparing our dating encounters to each other’s.

Dating for marriage. Casual dating. Maybe even some relationship advice, but definitely a lot of dating tries and fails. All this and more on this episode with Nadia and me.

Introducing to you for the very first episode of Gatekeep, Gaslight, Girlboss *cue incredibly dramatic drumroll please* Bailee and Breanna Chavez!! The three of us have been friends for about seven years now, so we have quite literally been with each other through pretty much every up, every down, and whatever else is in between.

What makes the two of them different from most other women in college is that they are twins.  We can all agree that having a built-in study buddy would be pretty nice. This is definitely something about them that I have always been slightly envious of.

We all graduated from the same small-town high school in East Texas in May of 2021. Following graduation, we came to Texas A&M together later that fall. They are both sophomore Nutrition majors and are heavily involved in multiple Nutrition and Dietetics organizations on campus. Breanna is a member of the Terry Scholar Student Organization, while both Bailee and I are a part of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholars.

I want to know how their lives differ from my perspective and experiences. I also will be discussing how we have changed mentally since we came to Texas A&M and how we have adjusted to the reality of adulting.

Both of them are high-achieving students and are involved with multiple organizations. I really want to delve deeper into how they are taking the time to balance school with their social lives. Which I would argue is one of the more challenging things to do once you’re in college. In the end, I want to ask the real question almost everyone undoubtedly wants to know. How much coffee do they drink?
