Hosting people for a get together or family gathering can be a big responsibility. As hostess you are in charge of the environment, meaning creating a clean and inviting home. In episode 2, Maddie and her special guest will talk about what makes your home stand out when it comes to hosting.
Some insight on tips that will be discussed is, making sure everything is nice and inviting for your guests, nothing messy on the floors and counters. Even full trashcans can even be something that gets in your guests way. Picking up the whole house makes the party seem more put together.
The appropriate decorations for the gathering. A birthday, anniversary, etc can have specific decorations. These do not have to be extravagant but balloons can never hurt! Decorations however are not necessary, but can add to the celebration. They are not needed for small functions such as a dinner party.
Tablescape’s make your home feel much more put together even if it is very simple. Google or Pinterest can hep you learn and have fun with designing your dining area. Break out the nice china for guests, when else would you use it?! Have fun with getting things ready for company, hosting should not be a burden.
Now, You have created the most welcoming environment, prepared for your guests and when they leave you won’t feel stressed about household chores (besides trash) because the cleaning is done! Now, let’s talk food. If you don’t love cooking ask others to bring dishes like a pot-luck or cater. If you DO love cooking this is where you really shine. People will remember your beautiful clean house but they will LOVE your treats. If this gathering doesn’t require a full meal, always have snacks. You can make this however extravagant you want, meats, cheese, crackers, etc. Offer drinks of some sort, water, soda, wine, etc.
And don’t forget to let your guest enjoy themselves! Make sure everyone has what they need and offer to get something if not. Be the Hostess with the Mostest! And there you have it!
