Welcome to Untold Stories from the Backseat! Here we will chat with local rideshare drivers and dive into what it’s like to pick up strangers!

The Celebrity Magnet, Ashley.

Although she has not been driving for rideshare very long, Ashley Sulzbach has already had quite the experience. I would put money on the idea that she has probably had the wildest celebrity sighting out of all College Station rideshare drivers.

Without a doubt, the most fun story to listen to from Ashley was about the time she picked up Playboi Carti. From having to sign an NDA to Playboi himself insulting her car, it was wild from start to finish.

Ashley is no stranger to her fur children!

Ashley makes the most of her nights out behind the wheel. To my surprise, she said that 98% of drunk people are highly entertaining. She makes sure that everyone who gets into her car has an opportunity to have an absolute blast!

As an added bonus, we also get to hear about the time she defended Cody Johnson’s music to Parker McCollum himself.

The Do’s and Don’ts of Picking up Strangers

Ashley shared one experience with us that really puts into perspective how dangerous rideshare driving can be. One evening she picked up a man that put her in a highly uncomfortable situation, ultimately pressing charges against him. This shouldn’t happen to anyone, but unfortunately is the chance you take when picking up strangers.

On the opposite side of that situation, we also chatted about how the easiest way to earn your driver’s respect is to do just that- be respectful. These cars are not only used to pick up strangers. They’re the car they take to the grocery store, drive their kids in, and live in.

Welcome to Untold Stories from the Backseat! Here we will chat with local rideshare drivers and dive into what it’s like to pick up strangers. Ubering home has never been this exciting!

Ubering home with Amy.

Amy Cole is a longtime resident of College Station, a devoted wife and mother, and probably the reason I or anyone in my friend group isn’t dead or in jail. She joins us as our first guest in episode one of Untold Stories from the Backseat!

When I decided to do this podcast Amy was the first person I thought of. I knew her down-for-anything attitude and experience of almost 11,000 trips with Uber would be just what I needed to get the ball rolling.

Amy and I go all the way back to my freshman year. She has seen or heard quite literally everything in between my little group of regulars and me. She watched us transition from wild freshman headed to Shiner Park to being home by eleven after a few rounds of pool. I’ve even babysat her kids in a last-minute arrangement so she could go out to celebrate her birthday. Every time we are in her car, she is eager to hear the latest gossip, and we are equally excited to update her.

Ubering to northgate with Amy!

What to expect.

In this episode, Amy goes over what it’s really like to Uber in College Station. Amy had several interesting stories to share with us. We learned how she earned herself the nickname of the ‘College Station Mom.’ This along with the time she had a man drug out of her backseat by cops made for a quite a few laughs. She also expressed how rideshare is an escape from the stay-at-home mom life where she gets to interact with adults. This along with making money makes it all worthwhile for her.
