Welcome to the In the Woods Podcast we me, Matthew Wright! Feel free to sit back, relax, and enjoy some fascinating hunting stories from deep in the woods away from civilization.

Hunting has played a major role in my life and I plan to share how it can do the same for you!

In this episode me and a special guest, Hayden Raska, one of my great friends and long-time hunting buddies, will be going over a story about hunting down in South Texas you won’t want to miss.

Along with some tips, tricks, dos and don’ts, about all things hunting in the unforgiving southern region of the state of Texas.

Best way to pack for south Texas –

  • What is the best gear for the hash terrain
  • Preparing for all-weather situations as it can change in just an hour

How hunting by the border can hinder safety –

  • What to do if you come across someone you know should not be on your land
  • Keeping your hunting camp from being ransacked individuals that cross the border

Personal experiences –

  • What we have leaned from our past hunts down south
  • Dos and Don’ts within the hunting camp
  • How to keep camp simple, yet comfortable

We also go into detail about some troubled times had on a hunting trip down in Freer, Texas. You just never know what to expect when you are that far out of civilization in unforgiving country. I have leaned over the course of my life and in my hunting career that the best way to learn is to listen… listening to ones who have quite literally ‘been there, done that’ and I plan to give you guys, my listens, just that within this podcast!
