Houston used a thermal to hunt a hog at night.

Howdy and welcome to episode 2 of Behind the Stands, in this episode I am joined by two special hunting guests who have been heavily active in the hunting industry for years. Jacob Pfiel and Houston Heger have their technique of hog hunting which makes this episode interesting. Houston has experience in hunting hogs with his thermals while Jacob uses dogs, known as “hog dogs.”

Houston and I have actually a special relationship and we’ve been dating for about three years. With the many hunting dates we have had, I have learned so much from him and still am today.

I met Jacob during my freshman year of college at Blinn Community where we both were in the same class one semester. Ironically, Jacob and Houston were neighbors until Houston graduated from Texas A&M University in 2023 (WHOOP!). During Houston’s last year in college, him and I got to know Jacob more and learn the many aspects of hog hunting. Today, Jacob is a student at Texas A&M University.
